I am writing a research paper.
in the methods and material section I wrote down what I calculated and showed how I calculated it.
I calculated distribution coefficient
Now the readers do'nt know what that is. So where do I put in a definiation of what it is? I don't think I define in the methods section.
Do I define it in the intro?

If that's the significant piece of information that your research is interested in, then yes, it goes in the intro, as well as why it's a measure of what you're studying. Otherwise, if it's just a random statistical analysis, then it just goes in the methods, and a quick sentence might do.
